Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
Anything typed into a search box on this site goes to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider handles the query and sends back results. We do not save those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If someone emails us, we keep the message long enough to answer it. It stays with our team. We do not pass it to anyone outside the organization unless the law requires it.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers record routine technical details each time a page loads:
- The pages viewed and the time spent on each one
- Your device type and operating system
- The IP address of your device
- The browser you use and its version
- The referring site, when one sent you here
- A timestamp for the visit
Cookies and Analytics
Small files called cookies help us see how the site is used, including which pages draw the most readers. Analytics services pull that traffic data together into reports. Browser settings will block cookies if a visitor prefers that, though parts of the site may then behave differently.
What We Do With This Data
The information we gather serves a short list of purposes, all of them tied to running the site.
- Keep the site running and loading quickly
- Route a search request to the right partner tool
- Learn which pages help readers and which ones need work
- Find and fix technical problems
- Show advertising that may relate to a visitor's interests
No Warrant Data on File
This site does not host, collect, or sell a warrant database or any file of personal warrant records. We publish general guidance about where Ramsey County warrant records are held, and how to check them through the sheriff's Warrant Office, the district court, and the Minnesota court record system. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and nothing gathered from visitors becomes a consumer report about anyone.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search boxes on this site. Whatever is entered into those tools is handled under the partner's privacy policy rather than this one. Those partners decide their own retention and sharing practices, and we do not control them. It is worth reading the partner's policy before submitting a search.
Links to Other Websites
This site links to sheriff's office pages, Minnesota court resources, legal aid groups, and third-party search tools. Following any of those links takes a visitor off this site, and the destination's privacy policy then applies. Read it before sharing personal details.
Advertising partners may also track activity across websites in order to target ads. That tracking happens on their systems, not ours.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. A few categories of information may reach:
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
- Search partners that process a query submitted here
- Ad networks that place advertising on these pages
- Government or law enforcement bodies responding to a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
We use standard security practices to protect what we collect. No internet service can promise perfect safety, and we cannot guarantee that a breach will never occur. We do what is reasonable to prevent one.
Users Under 18
This site is built for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor has sent us data can let us know, and we will remove it.
Your Data Rights
Minnesota treats government data as public unless another law classifies it otherwise under the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act, Minn. Stat. ch. 13, and court records follow the Minnesota Rules of Public Access. Those rules govern the warrant records held by Ramsey County and the district court, not records held by a private site like this one. Where our own data is concerned, you may ask us to:
- Send a copy of what we hold about you
- Correct information that is wrong
- Delete your data
- Stop certain kinds of processing
Updates to This Policy
This policy can change. A revised version will appear on this page with a new effective date, so a reader who wants to follow how data is handled can check back.
